After losing her parents in an accident, Shiori is all alone with no one left to depend on. One day, she finds a photograph labeled "Azakawa Village" in her parents' room. In the photograph is her mother, father, and her younger self...as well as her grandpa, who she doesn't remember ever meeting.
In order to find out more about her parents, she sets off for Azakawa Village with loneliness and hope in her heart. However, it turns out she was never meant to set foot in this village--the "promised place."

This is a psycho horror adventure game first published by NicoNico Game Magazine (currently Game Magazine) in August of 2015. It was released as a four-part series starting at Episode.1 with subsequent parts releasing about every two months. Circumstances surrounding its publication are described in the fan book and second art gallery collection mentioned below.
The game garnered great acclaim, eventually releasing on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation®, and was translated into five different languages (English, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Russian). It was promoted with a wide media mix including a monthly comic zine (KADOKAWA) adaptation that reached 2.5 million units and an anime adaptation by AT-X and Tokyo MX in 2018.
