Game

Released Oct. 2013

This exploration horror game was released on “Freem!” in October of 2013. It was the first RPG Maker-based game Hoshikuzu KRNKRN (Makoto Sanada) made.

Starting off with no experience in RPG Maker, let alone game development, Makoto spent three arduous years making this game. An essay describing this period can be found in the Kirisame Notebook booklet included as a bonus with volume two of the novels when purchased from Animate.

Following the game’s release, it was translated into several other languages while the Kadokawa-produced media mix novelizations and comic adaptations surpassed 200,000 and 400,000 units, respectively. A smartphone version was released by Game Magazine in 2018.

Media Mix

Starting the spring following its release and continuing until 2015, the game was adapted to comics, novelized, merchandised, and made into a drama CD to create a huge mixed media presence. These new mediums presented stories not found in the original game.
